Overview
This course package combines the PADI Mermaid™ Course and the PADI Advanced Mermaid™ Course into one seamless journey, from your first graceful pool glide to mastering advanced techniques in the open water.
This course package is perfect for those who want a complete mermaid journey, from beginner to advanced, without skipping any steps. It’s designed for anyone with good swimming skills and comfort in the water, aged 12 years and older, ready to experience the thrill of both pool and open water mermaiding.
The course begins with knowledge development through independent study using PADI Mermaid eLearning, which must be completed prior to attending the practical sessions.
This is followed by one day of pool sessions where participants will learn essential mermaiding skills and safety techniques. During these sessions, you will practice a range of unique underwater movements, including dolphin (butterfly) kicks and back glides. The training will also cover key skills such as breath-hold techniques, basic diving practices, and problem management to ensure confidence and safety in the water.
Next, take your skills into the open water aboard our premium day trip vessel AquaQuest. Your second day will include a trip out to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, where you’ll learn how swimming in natural, open water differs from pools or confined areas, dealing with deeper, larger, and more variable conditions, while developing advanced mermaiding techniques. You’ll also gain knowledge about aquatic life, including what to expect, how it may affect you, and how to stay safe and avoid harm.
At the end of your course, you’ll receive your PADI Advanced Mermaid™ Certification, opening doors to performances, events, and international recognition.
