Work on a dive boat on the Great Barrier Reef in
exchange for food, accommodation and diving!

 

girlladder250.jpgDeep Sea Divers Den currently offers a volunteer hostie opportunity for divers, Open Water certified or higher. Volunteer Hosties are required to do simple housekeeping chores aboard one of our luxury liveaboard vessels, OceanQuest or Taka. In exchange for the work done while on board, we will supply food, accommodation, and diving (if you have completed your work!).

The tasks will include making beds, vacuuming carpets, preparing tea & coffee, and other housekeeping tasks.

 

To apply for this position, you are required to:

  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Be Open Water Certified or higher
  • Be well groomed
  • Have at least 20 logged dives (30 forTaka)
  • Have a good working attitude
  • Have a good sense of hygeine
  • Have an Australian Working Visa
 
 
Interested divers must do the following:

  • Visit our dive centre in person and look at the current volunteer roster
  • Agree to the terms and conditions (available instore)
  • Leave AUD$100 cash deposit (no credit/debit cards)
    - refunded when you return from your trip (OceanQuest) OR
    - refunded when you arrive for check in (Taka)

Please note that we do not give details about the current state of the volunteer roster over phone or email. If you would like to know which dates are available, you must come into our dive centre and view the roster.

email us to enquire about volunteer availability.
 
We do not accept forward bookings on volunteer hostie positions. The volunteer position is very popular, and is granted on a first-come first-served basis. We will only accept a volunteer booking on the next available trip which does not have a volunteer already booked.
