PADI eLearning enables you to complete the dive theory portion of your dive course, at your own pace online, in the comfort of your own home. It will provide you with the knowledge development portion you need to commence your PADI Open Water Course. Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development and pool training.
After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system will provide you with comprehensive interactive presentations including interesting videos, audio, graphics and some reading. Short quizzes along the way will help you gauge your progress. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
The PADI (E-Learning program) is US$120 and non refundable. The fee covers your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook). This fee is paid directly to PADI USA.

After you've completed the online/theory portion of your course, you are able to move on to Step 2. Click "Step 2" above!
 Once you have completed your E Learning online, you are then ready to take the next step and book your place to complete the remainder of your dive course.
Upon arrival at our training centre in Cairns you will be required to complete a Quick Review Quiz to refresh your knowledge and understanding before you commence your pool training.
Open Water Course Requirements:
- Complete Quick Review Quiz
- Ability to swim 200M + Ability to float for 10min
- Minimum age is 12 years
- Dive medical certificate – must be done in according to Australian Standard AS4005-1
- E-learner completion confirmation (You must print your eLearner confirmation to bring it to our training centre)
It is a requirement by Queensland Government Law that you complete a compulsory medical assessment to the Australian Standard AS4005-1. The cost is $50 - $100 (If completed in Cairns). Medical certificates obtained in another country may not be valid in Australia unless the certificate clearly states that it has been done in accordance with AS4005.1.
Since some medical conditions/contra-indications may prevent you from participating in diver training program, we recommend that you contact us if you have any concern with your medical condition. This can greatly help avoid disappointment if you do result in having a diving contra-indication. Please click here for more information on dive medicals.
If you haven’t already completed your Australian Dive Medical, we highly recommend you obtain your dive medical at The Cairns 24 Hour Medical Centre located on the Corner Florence and Grafton Streets, Cairns.
